33. Место, время, образ действия

1. В придаточных клозах места (Place clauses) употребляются союзы where, wherever и в разговорной речи – иногда everywhere/anywhere.

where: Put the papers where you can find them easily положи документы туда, где ты их легко найдешь.
wherever: Wherever you go, they will follow you куда бы ты не пошел, они пойдут за тобой.

everywhere: "I see him everywhere I look вижу его, куда бы я не посмотрел.

2. В придаточных клозах времени употребляются союзы when / whenever, while / as, before / after, until / till и as soon as / once:

When: When she arrived at the party, she greeted other guests.
Whenever: Whenever we go to that restaurant, I always order the same dishes.

While: The telephone rang while she was taking a bath.
as

After: She went to work after she had fed her dog (Past Perfect подчеркивает порядок действий).
Before: I will call him before I leave the office.

As soon as: As soon as he arrives, we will leave.
Once you see the red building, turn left.

Until: She will stay until she has finished the project.
Before: She always takes a shower before she go to bed.

as: I bumped into her as I came out of the bank.
As soon as: As soon as he finished work, he went for walk.

В качестве своего рода союзов могут использоваться такие слова и сочетания как immediately. the moment и every time:

immediately/the moment: He will telephone you immediately/the moment he comes back.

Every time: "Every time I drink coffee late at night, I can't sleep.

! С таких предложениях в придаточной части не употреблятеся будущее время – вероятно, кто-то когда-то решил, что два will в одном предложении смотрятся некрасиво.

3. В придаточных клозах образа действия (Manner clauses) употребляются союзы as и as if.

She went for a walk as he always does on every morning.
She looks as if he is tired.
