Если смысл ясен, enough можно употреблять как местоимение:

Half a pound of carrots will be enough.
That's enough, thank you.
Enough is enough.

Но не ‘The meat is enough’ – ‘the meat’ не выражает количества.

После других уточнителей (a, the, my, this, that и т.п.) и местоимений употребляется enough of:

I don't know enough French to read this (не ‘...enough of French...’)
I don't understand enough of the words in the letter.

We haven't got enough blue paint (не ‘...enough of blue paint’.)
We haven't got enough of that blue paint.

You didn't buy enough cards (не ‘...enough of cards’)
You didn't buy enough of them.

■ Есть идиоматическое выражение: I've had enough of ....:

I've had enough of mathematics; I'm going to give it up.
She's had enough of England; she's going back home.
